Reflexology

Reflexology can benefit most people and is suitable for all ages. It may bring relief to a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions and is also an excellent preventative therapy. Conditions helped by reflexology include:

  • Stress related conditions
  • Arthritis
  • Sleep disorders
  • Digestive disorders
  • Hypertension
  • Circulatory problems
  • ME
  • Back pain
  • Infertility
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Pregnancy
  • Migraines
  • Sinus problems
  • PMS
  • Menopause
  • Depression

Reflexology is based on the principle that all organs, structures and systems of the body have a corresponding reflex point on the hands and feet. It works on the physical, mental and emotional levels, assisting the body to regain its natural balance.

Using specialized techniques Jane can detect and address imbalances in these reflexes, employing various methods depending on the condition being treated and whether relaxation or stimulation is required. For example, if the client is suffering from stress, this may be alleviated by inducing deep relaxation, encouraging the normal function of the nervous system.

Reflexology is an effective therapy in its own right but is also used to complement allopathic medicine and NHS hospitals increasingly employ Reflexologists to aid recovery.

The Treatment

The initial appointment takes up to one and a half hours and will include a full consultation, medical history and lifestyle profile, followed by a treatment. Subsequent treatments last between 45 minutes and an hour. Frequency depends on the nature of the condition being treated, and this will be discussed at the first session.

After a course of reflexology for a specific condition many people find it beneficial to continue with periodic treatments in order to maintain health and well-being.
